Our Mission Statement:
Enhancing Awareness for Under-educated Children (EAUC) was formed for two reasons:
1. To raise awareness and inspire more individuals to get involved in aiding children as well as young adults, by enhancing their education experience, and proper support. This goal includes issues at home, and in third world countries. 2. To raise funds for the education and proper support of kids in countries outside of the United States, and in the United States, through UNICEF. |

Where it All Started:
EAUC began with an article from USA Today by Oliver Thomas. His article summed up a theory that the reason why we have so much poverty, is because there IS poverty. Obviously there is poverty if there is poverty, but what he means is poverty in education. If you give away money to a poor man/women, they are likely to mis-spend it. Instead, give money to educate these people, then they can earn their own income. The issue is that there is a cycle. The poor don't receive a higher education, the poor grow up and reproduce, the poor's children are poor, repeat. This cycle is increasing the numbers of homeless and poor men and women, and can only be broken by an outside force such as EAUC, or YOU. Check out Oliver's full article on USA Today.
Breaking the Barrier: Breaking what barrier? The barrier that is protecting the cycle of poverty and education. EAUC is essentially a battering ram to the castle housing the king of poverty. The castle not being the cycle itself, but unawareness alone. If everyone knew that education was a prime issue in poverty, don't you think current presidents would lend more money to education systems instead of the people themselves? What we are doing here is simply providing the facts and information necessary to inform and persuade higher influences to help win the fight against poverty, through education.

It's already begun: There is no doubt that our efforts are the first and will be the last, whether we inspire you, or somebody else is inspired. It is likely that this issue will continue to surface in the future. As stated in the USA Today article above, East Lake, a community in Georgia, was turned from one of the worst communities to the best. People have already tried to buy food for the poor, but why should we have to give them anything, when we can give them a chance to run their own life, an education. Check out the Founders Blog for information and facts on others who have already begun improving the worlds poverty such as East Lake.
